Re: last lot from Linlithgow honest!
These are all decent enough images Fi but not as strong as the previous ones you have shown us. The last one of the fountain here has too much happening behind it with ornate brickwork and so forth. The fountain is the picture so your previous shot, which is a cracking shot, is easily the better.
Honest opinion of the first shot? Ho hum! Just doesn't really do anything for me BUT is is well composed, using the lines to lead into the picture so it isn't something you have done wrong. The burnt out areas to the left of the central window where the strong light is falling on the brickwork is distracting and the stained glass window is nowhere near strong enough to overcome it. If the sun was shining straight through it and bathing the place in coloured light it would be great but taming the sun so it goes where you want is not something I've ever been able to master. It always insists that I fit in with it instead of the other way round! Good to show these though and I am definitely not bored with seeing more of the same place. I am guessing we have probably seen the best though and I still love that original fountain shot. With the BG detuned it stands out superbly and is so well focused and the colours so well-saturated that it grabs hold of the viewer powerfully. Good stuff ![]() Cheers, Rob

Re: last lot from Linlithgow honest!
thanx Rob, i really ust added these as skip wanted the fountain from different angles. i agree the one with the faded bg is by far the best of the lot.
Not posting any more from here. am just back from stirling castle, argyles lodgings and another graveyard.. took a couple in raw but cant seem to find them on my memory card...... and my card reader has just been stomped to death........... lol Fi |

Re: last lot from Linlithgow honest!
See if you can find them by connecting your camera direct fi, might find that works. I never connect my camera usually as it is far slower than doing it by card reader but in this case you might well find the couple of missing RAWs.
Looking forward to seeing what you've got ![]() Cheers, Rob |
