light painting

after seeing some light painting around (im sure somewhere here, but i couldnt find it) i thought id have a go as its not something ive done a lot of.

took a few tries, hope you like it...

Nice job. I have some garden sparkler pictures from a few years ago with the same idea.

The reflections off the glass surfaces is what makes the shot for me.

Torch bulb on a stick?

6 sec f22 and my shiny new tripod

used my maglite without the top on for these, and tried lots of times before i got the reflection and camera both in the pic with the light in the right place.

also... just realised it's a nikon shooting a canon

I love this sort of thing, nicely done! :thumbs:

I remember one a while ago on another forum where the chap did it with shoelaces on a pair of boots, very well executed.
I've since been unable to find it though.

Hehe unfortunately not Matt. But quite similar.

It was a pair of boots (or shoes, I forget), and the laces had been removed, I'm sure of it, and repainted in, in a very similar vein to that one. So that one is very very close.

Incidentally, I did try googling for it before. Normally my google-wu is strong, but unfortunately it's too vague to find without dedicating some time to it.
If I get the time this weekend Im going to find it, it will NOT beat me...lol
BTW. While googling, I found the exact shot above posted on some other photography competition site (forget the name).
