Lithuanian Lakes

i was over in Lithuania recently, for a wedding (long story), any way we stayed by a beautiful lake and I had a go at some "reflections" shots. Quite happy with these results.

What do you think?

Re: Lithuanian Lakes

Reminds me very much of Finland.

I think I'd try and bring back some detail to the forest in the first by selecting it with lasso tool and adjusting levels and curves.

The 2nd has the opposite problem, there's enough detail in the forest but the sky is overexposed as a consequence. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was possible to rein that in and bring back some detail to that large patch of bright white sky.

Composition wise perhaps there needs to be a third element - a rock or log or whatever in the foreground to make these appear less flat. If Lithuania's forests and lakes are anything like Scandinavian ones I appreciate that might not be an easy find!

I think #2 edges out #1 in interest although I think #1 with its higher (nearer?) trees on the rhs would perhaps make for a more interesting comp if you can lift the tree detail.
