Lizards
Just been looking through some old pics and came across these, I took them in the reptile section at Eagle Heights about 18 months ago.

Well the first one looks like its either drunk or has been on something else
![]() Photo wise though I quite like it - not sure on the crop though but you appear to have caught great focus and the colour (for what I know about lizards - very little) seems accurate to what I'd expect. Has nice DoF and considering everything in the shot is green, this still does not spoil the shot Dont really care for the second shot to be honest. Nice first though ![]() |

Agree with Warspite - it is a very tight crop ... well exposed and focussed though ! Colours are definitely close to natural too. For me is also spoilt by the un-natural wire running down the branch - not that you could do too much about this I suppose !
Second shot is spoilt by the out of focus dragon and un-natural colouring. Taken through glass with reptile lighting - white balance setting possibly ? |

Thanks for the comments, if I remember rightly the first one was shot like that due to the enclosure he was in, it was either that or a shot that was more top down.
Looking at the second one now, it does look like I forgot to sort out the colour balance, seems to be a bit on the yellow side, probably due to the large heat lamp at the top of the enclosure. It was shot before I started using RAW so didn't have any nice n easy white balance slider |

I did get some bird shots inside, but am not particuarly happy with them due to backgrounds. The shots I took outside were taken with a Sigma 55-200 lens, which just seemed to produce really soft images (Wish I had got the Sigma 70-300 as from shots I have seen on here produces much better pictures).
As I am a stones throw away from Eagle Heights I will be going there again as soon as the weather warms up a bit, probably in March as long as the weather is good. I'll have a look through and maybe post some of the internal shots of birds later. |
