Lloyds building and 'The Gherkin'
A few photos from last autumn taken in the city. I was trying for some different angles on well photographed buildings. Unfortunately the sky was very flat and uninspiring. A couple of the shots I was not able to use a tripod so had to push the ISO, so please excuse the noise.

Interesting shots,there Mouldy. Good mix of old and new. It's a nightmare trying to take shots in these conditions. New York being the worst I've treid as the buildings are so high.
The Gherkin has a brillient display at night when the lights on the top for aircraft warning (I think) actually perform to a cycle. I watched it for ages when I was nearby on the 4th floor of a block of flats. No camera with me as I was working. This why I am revelling in my sigma 10-20. It offers opportunities that I could only dream of before I got it, and the converging verticals sometimes give teriffic effects.

Works for me & you've had the sense not to go OTT on it, as it could have distracted from the main subject . From memory it's quite a straightforward process to add a sky once you've done it a couple of time ...glad you found it of use
