Thumbs up Luv Norfolk

Thornham Creek, Norfolk

I took this shot with the intention of the boat being central to the pic but with clutter to the right and barren marshes to the left. The only place I could get the shot was a tiny landing stage that offered me water and mud on three sides ( and I nearly had a face to face conversation with the mud !). Converted to greyscale 'cos it gave me the best view of the creek going away from me - comments ? (kind ones please)

Sorry to waste time- this doesn't appear to be worth it.

Re: Luv Norfolk

Looks good to me and like the mono treatment. I went the other way and put the boat in the corner which also made the comp simpler and less 'busy'

Re: Luv Norfolk

Hi Andy! I love Norfolk too but when its muddy, it's really muddy!

I really like this shot Markulous's crop does work quite well as it lets your eye be drawn out to the grassy area rather than being drawn in to the partial boats on the right.

Re: Luv Norfolk

Thornham or along at Brancaster Staithe or Overy - Like either crop and mono has show me that I ought to try that on some of my many images of the area taken over the years. Makes me want to jump in the car to take some more!

Re: Luv Norfolk

The crop makes a big difference, gets rid of the busy area that doesn't really add much and lets our eyes focus on the important things. The boat holds our attention and then the meandering river bed allows our eye to move deeper into the picture to the boats beyond. Really like this a lot.

I know this was cropped by someone else but remember Andy, it is YOUR image and it had to be good enough to crop. Good shot

cheers,
Rob

Thanks Rob
I've done the quote bit 'cos the pic turned out almost as I wanted - clutter and boats to the right and the barren marshes to the left with the creek going away from me. Didn't go for an artistic shot - just a record of what I saw with the differences left and right. (perhaps that was my perception of a half decent pic ?)
