Macro Day
Light was fairly flat, so went out at lunchtime to see what macroes I could get, despite it being fairly windy
Purple Primula ![]() Sigma SD10, Sigma 105mm macro, f/22, 1/3, ISO100, tripod Lousy Wood Woodlouse in tree bark ![]() Sigma SD10, Sigma 105mm macro, f/11, 1/2, ISO100, tripod Oxslip Relatively uncommon oxslip, very similar to the cowslip ![]() Sigma SD10, Sigma 105mm macro, f/25, 1/13, ISO100, tripod Ex Snail Empty snail shell ![]() Sigma SD10, Sigma 105mm macro, f/2.8, 1/250, ISO100, tripod Cracked Crocus Usually I don't alter my subject prior to shooting. On this occasion I broke off the three petals nearest to the camera to reveal the stamen ![]() Sigma SD10, Sigma 105mm macro, f/10, 1/15, ISO100, tripod All comments gratefully received!

I like those, Mark - you've captured the colours well without blowing anything.
I'm assuming you used flash for the background to be dark in #1 and #3??? |

Enjoy every one of these. Our primula are still a few weeks away. But it won't be long.

Mark, I'm shocked, defacing flowers - what next!
![]() My favourite is the snail shell, I really like the blues and the flaking. Purple Primula is pretty and the cowslip, in fact the colour is nice in all of them. Thanks for posting
