Love #3, the spider

Here are some of my past macros:

Not really a macro (other than the lens) but one of my favourite Common Blue shots

Classic-posed Small Heath

Narrow DOF Mayfly

Classic-posed Orange-tip

Another favourite image of mine: Common Blue in it's habitat

Wow Marcin, i'm so impressed with your photo's. I love that last one with the blue butterfly. Absolutely fantastic If I would be so good, I don't think I would ever have to buy wallpaper By the way, do you have any suggestions of which books to get for butterfly's and creepy crawly's. I'm looking now, but there is too much choice.

Hacker, I like your macro's aswell

Re: Macro-photography: example shots and general discussion

Dutchie i'm affraid it's not blue butterflie . about the book - i'm using Pocket Nature Insects and second one Pocket Nature Butterflies and Moths. They are not really good (no information about when insects are active - so i don't know if i should look for some of them already or should i wait till june for example). And this book about butterflies and moths is not good either - only most popular, and I have already some photos of moths that are not in this book.

Markulous - no wonder you are proud of that no 1 - it's great .
no 2 is very good - sharp, good composition, and very nice butterflie
no 3 - i'm surprised, there is something interesting about this photo, generally i don't like B&W for macro but here it's good. i think it's composition and again nice details
no 4 - nice but not sharp enough
no 5 - good but not as good as first one .

And it wasn't you either Marcin, with the last set of macro's . It was Markulous. Well I like the last photo. Beautifull detailed.

But thanks Marcin. I'll go and look in a bookshop or library instead, to see which one is the best.

Love the shots Markulous, particuarly the first 3.

The first one with the 3 blues is really nice and like the S like composition. Number 2 is really sharp ( i think the last two maybe a bit soft ) and great pose.

The one that really grabs me is your B&W, really works well for the mayfly.

AAAGGGGGGHHHH Another great picture

Unfortunately you are so good at this I think you have given the rest of the Pixalites / Pixalonians (do we have a collective noun ) an inferiority complex. . Also your note re taking pictures at 5 AM did not help much

Re: Macro-photography: example shots and general discussion

should i hide and come back after few months? so everyone will have time to practice macro skills ?
but then someone should take my camera because i'm not going to stop taking those photos .

i'm heppy when you like my photos but i don't see any reason for you not taking photos like this one above. i was using simple digital camera before. i use a little bit better camera now. but it's not about camera and you all know that. it's all about photographer .
