In Memory - Warsaw
I have realised that I have not uploaded many pictures so I thought I would add some more over the next few days. Just ones that I like for what ever reason. Comments welcome of course.
I find Warsaw old city a very moving place to be in. There are many of these tablets commemorating Polish fighters killed in the last war. I am not sure of the translation. ![]() |

Re: In Memory - Warsaw
Anthraquinone - "place honoured by blood of polish people who died for homeland freedom./ here on the 2/09/1944 nazi executed 70 poles"
nice photo but even for me, when i know what those words mean it's not really interesting as a photo. maybe B&W would look better. Warsow is a polish capitol but when you ask people they will say it should be really Krakow/Cracow. Only old part of Warsow is interested, the rest is just a simple example of communistic kind of thinking about city planning and architecture. It's changing but slowly. |

Re: In Memory - Warsaw
Probably agree about Warsaw. I like the Old City even though most of it is reconstructed. The rest of Warsaw is like many other modern cities although there are some interesting bits. Krakow is much nicer.
I like the picture as it is, as the colour reminds me of The Old City. I like the "earth" colours that the buildings are painted in. I assume that these are traditional. I am also not a fan of black and white, although I have seen some good examples here recently. |
