Men at work!
I haven't been on the forums this past week, not that anyone would notice.
Anyhoo this is the reason why. I had my whole main floor being ripped apart by the builder. My house is just over a year old and the staples in the vinyl floor were popping up everywhere. It was a mess right from the get go, so this was a year of me fighting with them. Anyone who has ever bought a new home understands what I mean. They don't replace things that easily. I really believe they just expect to put you off until the home warranty runs out. Anyway I fought for the floor, among all the other things on the year end and got it! Also when do they decide to do this huge task? Two weeks before Christmas. So here is what my house looked like. It was horrible!! I am exhausted but in the end it was worth it. Here are some pics I took of the men at work and a few of the finished floor. The guys thought I was a real trip taking photos of them, lol I think they liked it to be honest. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers, Jules. Last edited by jewel : 13-12-2005 at 16:00. |

Good for you Jewel, and how splendid it looks.
We won't have a kitchen over christmas, as we're still waiting for the utilities company to connect our new water pipe to the mains supply. Imagine how happy my missus is. |

A lot more involved than just flooring! When I do that sort of thing I always manage to damage something getting heavy stuff like the washing machine back in place
![]() Looks good. |

Glad everything worked out in the end, looks great. When you took pictures of the workmen did they all pull the bellies in and hold?

Nah, not this bunch. They didn't seem to mind much of anything hanging out! Even with my camera around. I had these guys in here all week. You don't want to know how many plumbers butts I have seen this week. It's just wrong! I think they got too comfortable by the end of the week, lol. Their gone anyway for now, until the New Year. Than I'm getting the loft fixed. ![]() Cheers, Jewel |

So when are you hosting the official Photography Forums Christmas do? We could make it an annual event as long as you can provide beer and beds for about 400 members. I am not too fussy food wise and would be pleased with something simple like pizza or even home made sandwiches, so as not to be too much of an inconvenience

As long as the beer is good and not too gassy (ie not American Budweiser!), and the company is good, I'll have anything you can throw at us, Jewel lol
