I like the crop and processing applied to picture 5, if this shot had been shown by itself I am sure it would have received a lot of positive comments. Its very abstract when viewed singularly and appears as if it could have been shot from below. I fell its impact has been diluted by the rest of the pictures here.

The photos with the dark saturated skys visible work well as increasing the contrast, I presume you have shot these with a polarizing filter rather than adjustments during the post processing stage?

As a series of photos you have done well to tell the story of the events and activities that were going on in Liverpool over the whole weekend.

Dave doesn't believe in Polarizers.

Thanks for the comments. I DO have a Polarizer, but find it makes my shots dreary and underexposed. I like the way it removes reflections, but thats just gimmicky. I prefer to edit the shadows/saturation in Photoshop's RAW editor when I get back.
The colour of the sky in the shots above however was caused by taking the shots immediately after a thunderstorm.

I reckon a lot of professional photographers would say Photoshop is the gimmick. No amount of Photoshopping will allow you to see through glass or water. Don't forget if the shot is underexposed you can compensate for it easily enough.
