Thanks everyone for your comments It was shot using natural light with a pale green background, then using a mini maglite to highlight the centre. Glad you like it!

Very nice bit of creativity with the additional lighting.
I'm wondering how it would look rotated CW a touch to make the slant slightly more dynamic (and the stalk entering more vertically). Oh and a bit of tidying up in the bottom right corner - but you knew that! Oh and

Very well done there Lily, I like the extra light (being picky I'd prefer just a smidgeon less but that's just my taste) and the overall appearance. I agree with Mark, would like just a bit more angle, but overall this is a really lovely picture.

Damn, you noticed the corner!  Thanks too Rob - glad you like it This is what it looked like before I plucked all the feathery bits off, I thought it looked too fussy!
