More boring macro
Judging by comments (lack of them) my macro shots are not too popular. Just let me know when you have enough
. The problem is I do only macro now (bugs and insects are back to life after winter). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: More boring macro
Well I like them.
Out of these 3 shots I think number one and three work best. Love the detail you've got on the dew covered fly, and the weird almost alien like look to that weavil bug. Number 2 has good detail and looks fierce but just not that something extra like the other two. |

Re: More boring macro
Marcin, how do you get them so sharp and so clear? The problem I'm having is that with most of my shots there is always some movement and, however slight, it is resulting in blurred shots. Do you have a secret to making the insects stay still!!?

Re: More boring macro
Angela i'm going to write some tutorial, i don't know when (it'll have to wait for bad weather) but i'll explain everything.
as quick answer - patience. i'm waiting even 10 mins for 1 second without wind. i'm taking 20 or more shots if i'm not sure about sharpness. insects are sensitive to light - if you don't stand between them and sun they won't run away. stay still and don't move. get to them as slow as you can. and... i've noticed i keep my breath when shooting because it's hard to stay still in wired position trying to find that ideal point for sharpness. use manual focusing - block it, and move your body to find sharpness. i don't know what else to say. |

Re: More boring macro
Don't stop cause you don't get a comment, everybody can't be on everyday, like me,
.I'm with Angela, only I have just started to understand macro and the level I need to rise to take sharper pictures,,,Or should I say the level closer to the ground. Love your shots and look at them every time you post even though I don't always comment. I feel you have become a value added to the community. I wonder sometimes if people don't spray bugs for the water droplets, but mostly not,,![]() |

Marcin - Those are truly excellent shots which I could sit and stare at for ages. The detail in them is fantastic - please keep them coming.

Re: More boring macro
Marcin, one of the things is that your shots are of such a consistently high standard, people don't post crit!
![]() Fantastic as ever, #1 is amazing, and 3 is very nicely detailed. 2 is disgusting! ![]() |

Re: More boring macro
It's boring to constantly say your pictures are so d*mn good
But I suppose if you only do macro, then practise makes perfect. I like nr 1 and nr 3 best. I'm looking forward to that tutorial ![]() |
