Re: More Hay/straw.

Think I too prefer the colour in #1

With the straw bales, think I'd have preferred a longer lens to bring the background ones slightly 'nearer' (and so larger) - the near one rather overwhelms the shots

Cheers Markulous, bails taken with 12-24 mm, do you mean use something like 18-70mm?

Yeah, as it won't 'blow up' the FG at the expense of the BG - just stepping back from the bale will make it smaller but the BG ones will still be distant, so a longer lens and stepping back will achieve both (tho' obviously a more restricted view!)

Re: More Hay/straw.

Just for once I'm gonna disagree with Mark, I prefer the mono of that first one

I do agree about using a longer lens though. However, the difficulty is often getting back far enough to utilise a longer lens. The compression of BG and FG works well but it can be hard to get the first one in as a complete 'wheel'.

I like the moodiness of No 3 with that sky

Cheers,
Rob

Re: More Hay/straw.

I like these and the others posted but really can't decide whether I fall in the colour or mono camp. Both are equally good. I think, and I keep changing my mind , that I prefer the mono version (in the other post) of the 1st and the colour version of the 2nd of this set.
