More macro stuff...

Couple of shots from my MPE-65mm lens. Still getting back into the habit of using it again after the winter layoff.

These two uncropped shots were taken at about 3x magnification, I had thought I had uploaded one of the fly at 1x mag, but it appears to of got stuck on pixalo upload. I'll try again later, as it's quite good to show the effect of the magnification zoom.

#1 Bluebottle (One of about 30 shots I took before it buzzed off, and only 1 of about 3 that were reasonable at this mag) F16 Mag x3 Flash.

#2 Earwig - Found this docile one under a leaf on tree, think it may be a touch dark though. F16 Mag x3.5 Flash.

no 1 is great

. fantastic details. and you have to clean your sensor - you could see some dust at lower right corner

. the only minus is for composition.
no 2 is not so interesting.

Geez you really got in close didn't you

1st one is too close for comfort

but a very good shot all the same

2nd one's not quite as sharp + a bit dark.
