Beauties!
Adrian, can you tell me the name of the ship? It looks very similar to one that visited Montrose Harbour recently. Wasn't the Statstaad Lehmkuhl the worlds' tallest 3 mast ship was it? |

Thanks guys
. Bachs, The ship in the first shot is the Polish ship Dar Mlodziezy built in 1982, the smaller one is Artemis, built in 1926 as a Whaler and the ship arriving in darkness in the last shot is the Russian ship Mir, built 1988. Mir is a member of the 5-strong Dar Mlodziezy class, all both built to the same (but different!) design at the Gdansk shipyard, Poland. The other ships are the Khersones, Druzhba and Nadezhda. Ken, the weather at Blyth improved, but wasn't great. It's getting busy at Tynemouth and South Shields and largish crowds are gathering at the river mouth. Ships are starting to arrive and some will make their way upriver today although some will be waiting until the main arrival tormorow, between 8am and 4ish.
