You are all going to get well fed up with me banging on about the Sigma 10-20 before long!

Here is another one of the Minster, first as shot

Then with a bit of correction to the verticals

Then with the verticals corrected as much as I dared. You can see how much I have lost of the first image in doing this. I have not corrected as much as I could to keep the crop from destroying the image completely!

Finally to keep Dave happy...

Needs a new sky, I think, but no so many images, so little time........

I don't mind as long as you keep posting photos of this quality. Nice correction work on the verticals, though you've lopped off the top of the building....

No choice with the correction. The more you correct, the more you lose from the image. I could have gone further, but as I said, it would have destroyed the image.

Knowing how far away you were stood from the Minster it does really show how wide this lens is

Now re-edit that shot & take a look at your "levels" .... now pull that left hand slider in to the start of the graph to get a true black in the shot ..... number wise it will be around about 30 . Then re-post

Looks like there was a decent sky on the day. If you shot in RAW, are you able to open same shot but exposed purely for sky ? You can then mix the 2 together

I've got another one taken from the corner opposite/45 degrees from the West doors where I was even closer, and I had to zoom in!! I could not have been more than 80-100 feet from it.

LOL ...tell you what ...you go into Levels & then choose the "set black point" pipette & then click on your so called black point

Dave, I've found a far easier way to get the results you speak of without faffing around in PS. Just turn your monitor btightness down

P-E, yes, I've got some of the inside, but nothing like your ones. I'll post some when I've got my brave up a bit!
