Motox at Tain

Just got back about an hour ago and having a quick squint through. Light was crap, again, rained for about 3 hours, track was muddy, not a great day overall.

Quite liked this though

Is that a speck of dust I see on your sensor Doddy?

That really catches what it's all about.

LOL, if I can find the camera under the half inch of dirt I'll check it and see 1D Mk2 is almost essential with conditions like today

I sympathise. Our speedway press-day the other week was horribly wet - I spent half the day trying to shield the D30 under my coat!

Like it Dod, although I'm pleased I wasn't taking the shot.

LOL, not as bad as it looks, taken at 200mm so most of that dropped short of me. It was the guy going through a puddle just as I walked past I want to have a chat with

Fantastic shot dod

Great angle to capture the shot from and the rider is just clear enough through the pin sharp mud to really draw us in.

I am betting that this shot is worthy material for being published if you sent it off to a few select magazines, its certainly interesting and unusual enough to grab peoples (and editors) attention

Ta I did the first round pretty much standard just to make sure I had the shots. Then I started to look for the different stuff, close ups that sort of thing, here's a few more. See how grey it was

If anyone's worrying about shutterlife don't do motocross. 24 races on the day, about 35 riders a race, 2500 images

Very nice shots dod, altho I don't think I have ever seen you post a bad motox pic

At first I wasn't sure if I liked the first shot but it seems to grow on me the more I look at it.

Thanks for the comments guys, got to say I'm really loving the sigma for this stuff, especially on low light days like that.
Just as important though the riders are starting to come asking for them, at the forums and at the tracks. Had to do a team shot for one of the teams as well, typically it was grey and drizzle first thing but they didn't come out too bad.
