I really like No #1, fabulously natural expressions between them! Great job!

BUT! How about a tighter crop? I would be tempted to bring it in from the right side (back of head/neck not pretty, say to where the seam meets the neckline of the jumper) and also in from the left to lose the white garment of the lady (maybe enough to make the distance equal the other side after cropping for symmetry).

Then, how about coming down from the top just to below the top of the guy's head, say just where his hair meets his forehead (I know they always say don't cut off the tops of heads but hey this is creative right?!). This would accentuate the negative spaces between the faces and make a huge difference.

Please try it and let us (me) see the result!

PS Tempted to crop the second one too to remove superfluous background/clothing.
