Here are some shots I took with my new d80 and 50mm 1.8. I mentioned I like dog shots...here's proof. They are my test subjects for absolutely everything. I've not done anything with them, other than a bit of cropping, as you will see. My post production skills are pretty limited! But this way you can see more of what the lens is like. (that is my excuse, anyway!)

seriously, the sun came out just before I shot that...not experienced enough to handle the exposure challenges there! but I like it anway, the detail in the eyes in the full res is so cool!

It's all there, the window, the curtain, the cloud, the sun...and still room for detail in the iris.

Anyway, love the lens, nice dof and it is quite sharp! (sometimes, however, I am not, so the qualities of the lens may not shine through just yet LOL!)

I hope this is not too many to post...I promise I won't always post this many!!! But I figured I might as well jump in with both feet? If it is too many say the word and I shall edit. I followed the size guidelines, hope I got it right. (they look a bit big...???)

Yes a bit big for me I try to post at 750. nothing wrong with the photos they look good to me #5 the best .ps dont even think we will be gentle with you if it can be improved by a comment from some one that is what you will get ,but dont take it to heart it will help you improve thats what I love about this site. well done good first post

and yes Dave, they really are great dogs. This one was a rescue of sorts (we kind of rescued each other), we got her at a year old and she's come such a long way!

Ok, now that first pic post is over with, I've shaken off the nerves and will post more!

Nice pics - great subjects and one of the cheapest and best lenses that Nikon have produced. Just wish it was wider for the same money!
