Hey guys, here is my first shot with my new D200. Its the first dSLR ive had so go easy on me

Very good Leezon I like the composition, except maybe crop a bit off the RHS to decentralise the main flower + to get rid of that snippet of petal on the RH edge. Colours look a bit dull, but nothing a bit of levels/curves can't fix. And the WB might need a tweak to get rid of the blue cast in the shadow area on the LHS.

Apart from those niggles, it's a good shot, well done. I particularly like the angle you've captured the main flower head at, and there's good detail in the centre of the flower.

Looks like you're going to have loads of fun with your new D200, congrats

Yes, I agree with charlotte, crop a good one and a half inches off the right and I think boost the exposure by about a stop as it looks a bit dull here. You've got nice differential focusing with the main flower nice and sharp and the smaller one to the left blurred off, exactly what I'd be looking for in this kind of shot.

Well done on getting your first picture up on here and I hope you have many years of fun photography with your new D200.
