My Mini Photo Collection
Hi, I'm new to this forum and I thought I'd start by sharing some of my photos with you. They're all a bit random, so I hope you don't mind.
The first photo was taken with a Canon 300D (digital SLR), and the other photos were taken with a Casio Exilim (not the flashiest camera, but it works well enough). My 'old man' dog, Harley ![]() Beach ![]() Perspective ![]() Pelican.... Eating a fish head, yup. Mmm (aww it's pixilated )![]() Chihuahuas, gotta love 'em

Nice job. And welcome.
Really like the perspective one but they're all good shots. |

I notice they are all gifs, that might be the reason the pixalation has occured in the pelicon shot...
Not a bad start off, the blues in the second and third shots are excellent, did you use a poloriser? Dogs are nice too, though cant say im a big fan of Chihuahuas..... |

Thank you Fingerz and EosD, I appreciate your comments.
EosD - Yeah unfortunately I had to save them as gifs. I originally had them all as pngs but photobucket made the photos pretty small once they were uploaded (which is a shame), so I got a bit sick of trying to sort it out and changed all my photos to gifs. I didn't use a polariser or enhance the photos in any way. We really do get very blue skies (and deep blue water) here in Australia. Ah ok, well I guess Chihuahuas aren't for everyone! Personally I love my Chi (she's not snappy, yappy or anything stereotypical like that). I'll have to convince you to like the breed, though I think that will be tough.

Hello and welcome to the forums. I like the first shot of your old man dog "harley". Definately a cute dog, though I think the focus is a bit soft. I agree with Matty too, the blues in the second and third shot are really nice.
Cheers, Jewel.

Im not a big fan of dogs either (since one decided to try my leg for dinner when I was practising sparring a few years ago), but I have learnt to like them again
![]() I love that Chihuaahahwahahwahahwah shot (dunno how you spell it), I can just hear him saying "Awwww come on...come and play, I'll run about like a lunatic for your amusement if you want!" Edit : v nice bordering too. Nice, simple, and effective. Doesn't go overboard like so many people tend to nowadays. I like it! |

nice photo's. especially like the 'perspective' shot. Welcome BTW.
Had you considered saving your photo's as jpegs? I'm not 100% sure but I think the compression is less harsh and you should end up with better quality results. If you ask EosD nicely, he'll set you up with an album on here and you can store your photo's there. We have a 160k file limit on the forum but that's still enough for a good quality jpeg, just a thought

Oooh....Chihuahuas.......must be a UK thing thinking of small dogs as snappy .....originates from Trumpton I think
(too old for you  ) Always had dogs from a nipper, with most of em being Boxers, although just got a miniature schnauzer this year....daughter loves it anyway...couple of photos in my gallery . Any way time for a schooner here now

Jewel - Yeah the shot of Harley isn't as clear as I'd like it to be. It took me forever to photograph him because that day he would *not* stay still. Thanks for your comments.
Marcel - Thank you! Oh yeah, I've been attacked by a stray dog before, it's really frightening. My Chihuahua doesn't like having her photo taken and usually turns her head away. I'm glad you like my simple borders.Gandhi - I changed the Pelican shot to a jpg. It seems to have made it less pixelated but the quality still isn't as good as the original. Ooh thanks for the info, I just might ask for a photo album. DJW - Oh yeah, I have no idea who Trumpton is! I'll have a browse through your gallery later.IanC - Thank you! I'm from Sydney. If you don't like rain this is definitely the place to come... it hardly rains here anymore. This was another photo I took while I was at the beach.

Aww what a sweet Chihuahua!
I know how hard it can be to photograph this breed as I think to get the best shots you have to be eye-level with them. I really love your photos, especially the 2nd photo. I think that Chihuahuas just have the most adorable expressions.Today I was sorting some stuff out to sell on ebay (bags, jackets etc) and I had my items piled up on the floor and my Chihuahua decided to curl up and go to sleep on the pile! |

My wife makes Chi clothes and sells them.
I refuse point blank to post any photos of her (the dog) dressed up like a ponce...it's bad for my street cred here  Quote:
