Just changing my business card & would like some opinions on this proof. I want something very simple. So let me know what you all think.

Just my 2p, but I'm not so keen on cards where the text is rotated so you get a pain in the neck.

You could rotate the pic too, so the whole card is 'portrait' format. ???

Photo is too wide to do that on the template, but I could rotate the text.

Well I guess although it looks different, the ingredients aren't so different to a run of the mill card.

Bold colours but not too many, clear name. It's different and if handed to me would get a second glance as opposed to the half dozen business cards that languish crumpled in my back pocket

They will also be glossy rather than matte as my old cards were.

I like it: simple and effective text, nice pic. Can't make up my mind about rotating text - here's another idea! Everyone should have a logo!

Glad you said that as it could imply you only do cycling photography - same with Mark's rather good logo idea.

I'm also not keen on the image and text being at 90 degrees to each other. Have you thought about the text on one side and the image on the other?

Hmmm, like the text idea Mark, you'll have to let me know how you did that one, Please .
I've thought about having 4 cards, one with a time trialler (as above), one with a road race, one still life & one landscape. Think it will now be with the text horizontally and not at 90 degrees. Still with 2/3 photo & 1/3 text.

Easily done, Sarah - cut out the cyclist and increased contrast then B/W, then resize!

Think it'd look better in 'Photography' rather than mess up your name (and it kind of suits the 'oto')

I think the logo is brilliant BUT it does rather add to the impression that Sarah is a cycling photographer and so might be counter-productive.

I have no problem with the sideways writing of the original though I think I would put the e-mail address on a white box along the bottom of the photo so that it stands separate from the website address (or vice versa). That would also leave space for phone number and/or address. I can understand you would not want to show that on here but you would definitely want to put it on your business card.

Rob thanks for your input. As for the phone number/address, it's not something I put on the cards, I write it on if I give one out specifically to someone who needs to contact me, but don't like leaving them around with full name & address on, maybe that's just a female thing, but some other togs I know don't put theirs on either. Most of the local cycling fraternity know how to contact me through my club or will email me if not.
I've had my original cards a year now and nobody has had problems with the contact.

As for the logo, If I'm ordering 4/5 designs, I can just use the cycling shot on the cycling photo cards.
