Re: new tripod
very nice photos. lovely colours. nr 1,2,3 - good composition. excellent details. good background. nr 4 is not so good as others only because of that mess in background

Re: new tripod
Thanks guys. Marcin on #4 I had some shots with better background on that iris, but the flower itself wasn't quite as good. All in all for me at least, it was a rewarding session. B, I argued with myself about goin a little tighter on #1 to move the focal point farther from the center. I may still and keep both.

Re: new tripod
sharpness, color, why a tight crop,,maybe someone with the proper know how on close up/marco can shade some light for me. Tight crop for a select detail, but for every flower I see seems to make me want to open the window wider and let in some air. Your pictures are great as to what your camera takes, but I feel you need to scout out some feeling for them, Can anybody tell me I am wrong about this,,not picking Lew, just asking on your post,,hee hee,
,, I asked question in forums, couldn't paste link.

Re: new tripod
I really like 2 and 3, but 2 could be a lot brighter, to have more impact. Check the levels

Re: new tripod
Thanks Jack and Streetfire. Jack, I will see how the highlights hold up at a brighter level. I'm still working on that with the E510. Steve, I have no answer or knowledge on the subject. I just try to let each shot determine for itself based on its own individual characteristics. I'm sure someone here with formal training can help us with that or offer a reference to help.
