The Old Pier - Loch Etive

What's left of the Old Pier at the head of Loch Etive with the hills of Glen Coe behind.
Hoped to get some sunset shots but the heavens opened shortly after I took this shot.

Jees. Here we go, the voice in the wilderness. :icon_redf

I do like the shot but there's something not quite balanced about it to me, I think it's the actual pier going out into the water. It seems to cut the shot in half and my attention is drawn to it all the time when there are nicer elements in the picture. Great sky, plenty of detail, great composition with the foreground taking you in, just that big wooden thing stuck in the middle spoils it for me.

Just my 2p worth :coat:

Dod, I welcome all comments not just the good ones. :flipoff:

Plus you may well have a point with your 2p worth.

A crop would give you a nice panaramic as well. It would put the pier on the lower third intersection too.
