Re: which one?

My preferance is the colour one.

More punchy than the black and white, more interesting features pop out.

Bout time I got out with the camera

Re: which one?

very hard choice, i love the sky in them both, i like the barriers in colour but the sand in B&W.....

.....if had to make a decision or be shot, id likely end up shot!

Re: which one?

I think the colour one just edges it for me - the textures on the breakwater come through better. Lovely shot Just to complicate it - how about a sepia version?

Re: which one?

Either one Fiona, both look good, if i had a choice the mono, not picking but id do something at the end of the wood where the post meets the sky, they look to close of a match.Hope that makes sense.

I can see why!. This has got to be the toughest choice between a colour and mono version of a shot I've seen on Pixalo so far.

I'm pretty much on the fence, but if you pushed I'd probably fall onto the mono side... I couldn't tell you why though.

Colour for me but I like them both. I know this is not the Critique Forum so, if you will forgive me, what do you think has caused the halo round the wooden posts?

Re: which one?

thanx folks............ yep as Jack says the halo is caused by the HDR...... but its only visable on the low res version, cant spot it at all in the hi res........... and there is also slightly ( not a lot) more contrast between the sky and the pole in hte hi res ones as well.........

Re: which one?

Hi Fiona, mono for me please. You won't be surprised to hear I have a 'few' shots of these Groynes at Portobello. Was this taken early Sunday afternoon by any chance?.As I was coming back along the Prom from a cycle ride in the Lothians there was a 'swathe' of snappers outside the swimming pool clicking away!!?.
