Good composition and a nice mono conversion

Re: One from this afternoon
You have certainly made the most of what you had available to you. The drab feel has come across, but the tree and sky have such interest, The eye is kept firmly where you wanted it. Ideal for mono, and as P-E said a really good conversion.

Re: One from this afternoon
I'll have to keep an eye on you with your Mono's
I probably would have applied some USM as mentioned in Copter thread to grass area...but then possibly that could detract from that great sky Bugger it...had a quick play ![]() 1st thing, looking at levels of shot you had wasted space to left & right of main graph. This meant you did not have true black or white points in shot.....a must in my eyes for majority of monos. Pulled the end sliders in & immediately more punch to my eyes. Next step is down to personal taste. I added USM at 70,25,0 to foreground to add some more punch Hope some of this helps |

Re: One from this afternoon
Dave has sorted all my comments. I looked and though 'Great composition but lighting flat.' The adjustments have made this a cracking shot, I really like it a lot. Major credit to Hacker for taking the right picture and grudging applause to Dave for doing ok with it
