Re: One for sorrow
I think it works Gary, although the bush does distract a bit.

Re: One for sorrow
I think the bird is a bit to central Gary, I would probably crop quite a bit off the top and right. So the flowers and bird are on a diagonal from bottom left to top right.
Good shot though, definatly has potental

Re: One for sorrow
I see where you're coming from with this one Gary, and Nicklovick is right a crop is needed, but i'm not yet convinced as to how to crop it. I did have a quick fiddle, but found i was cropping too much of the picture. Maybe someone will post an example of the right crop (i've not found it yet although i'm sure it's there).
Also (you probably did this on purpose to give it that whole mournful feel) but i think it is a little too dark! |

Re: One for sorrow
Here's my take on this image it's a bit darker and I've gone for a more wider veiw.

Re: One for sorrow
This is what I had in mind with my last post.
I have burned in a wee bit of the highlights and midtones round the flowers on the left. And used the dodge tool to brighten the magpie a touch. ![]() This second image is to show the diagonals that make up the composition.
