One from today's final home league game of the season. First time I've tried my 1.4 converter on the 300mm.........

I reckon it looks to be a success! I use the 1.4x and have to say I'm impressed - little loss of quality even if it comes at a 1 stop exposure penalty

I've had the 1.4x since last year and never bothered using it

Well, I guess if you don't need it, you don't need it! Personally, as I'm after wildlife and I really, really hate to crop into a shot, I use it a fair bit!

All the pro sports 'togs seem to use them P-E, so there must be something in it. (Gleaned this info from the book I'm 'reading' on sports photography, which is a set of profiles + sample shots by 10 top sports photographers.) And since sports seems to be your thing now, you're wise to 'get with the programme'
