Re: opinions needed

I like the first and third ones one Fi, but I wonder if you could set the darts up so you could see or almost see the "20"....just to make it a bit obvious to the non-dart players!!?

Re: opinions needed

i like the first one and i would suggest the same as angela, also maby the top dart needs to be central to create a triangle with the flights to feel more symetrical.
what i possibly would have done is either used a brand new dartboard, or gone around this dartboard wih a bit of sticky tape and lifted the particles/dust.

Re: opinions needed

Sorry Fiona, I don't see the relevance of the theme "Perfection" in these

I get that a triple twenty is a good score in darts, but "perfection"?? Maybe a triple bullseye would convey that!

Re: opinions needed

for me the red paint that is outside of the wire says imperfection,. somehow I think perfection needs to include precision - or at least it seems that way with this subject.

can you give some details of the fuji comp itself, perhaps a url?

Charlotte - three darts in a bullseye would only give you 150 points where as three in a triple 20 is "ONE HUNNNNNDRED AND EEEIIIGHTTYYY!" - it's the holy grail of dart's players !

Re: opinions needed

Another great score for Fifi La'mour

I am going to go against the grain and say number two is the best.

Between me and you, I am not sure the others are qualified to critique'.

Apparently not

Does this display of darts-ignorance (by me) illustrate that this is not a universal subject for a photo comp?? Not all judges and/or viewers will be darts players either

Re: opinions needed

Fiona,
Number One. Is ok but I feel off centred and my eyes are drawen to the flights rather than the score.

Number Two. Is much much better the eye is concentrated on the treble bed and the highest score, however I do agree that thimperfections of the dart board need to be cleaned up.

Number Three. Is the best of the bunch two in the treble bed and on almost there giving the feeling of movement, again the imperfections on the dart board does let it down.

Here's a thought for you what about a shot of the highest three dart check out.

i dont have a brand new dart board......... and its not dust honest ( i practise most nights. what it is is bits of bristle coming thru . so the best i could do would be to turn the board but im not sure if there are any better beds

the perfection is precision in the score Sil......... no point giving a URL for the fuji comp cos u have to be a member with a registered fuji camera to be able to access it sorry......... if u have a fuji camera ust go to Digital Cameras, Digital Camera Accessories and Digital Photography Equipment from Fujifilm UK and register your camera. you are free then to enter and browse the comp.this months theme is "new beginnings"

possibly something for me to think about charlotte its like everything tho. sometimes when u are interested in something u forget that others arent...... do u think including the 20 in the shot would make it more obvious to non dart players?

did think about highest check out but i think it would be even more difficult for non players to see the significance?

Many thanx all of you for the wonderful comments.. will have another go at this on thursday...... hey its darts night tonight! lol

Not sure Fiona, I didn't get the relevance 'til the penny dropped - or rather was dropped on me so someone looking at it for the 1st time without being told what the point of the shot is may or may not click as to the relevance to the theme. Try including the 20 in the shot + ask someone who hasn't been involved in this thread yet to have a look and, without reading any other comments first, give you feedback on it.

Re: opinions needed

Had another idea Fiona - call it "One Hundred & Eeeeeiiiiiiiighty!" as the pic title, that should give a clue

The pics themselves ... I'd choose no. 2

Re: opinions needed

I think the "180" is probably the best compromise between showing perfection and non-darts players getting the idea.

As it stands, I think no. 2 is the best of the three at the moment but I like the idea of no.1. Perhaps trying these idea's again but this time changing the angle of shooting by getting on a step ladder and shooting down on the darts would help composition and keep the "20" in view, lighting could become a problem with doing this though but it's worth a try I think.

Regards,
Iain.
