With the favourable feedback on other compilation threads recently, this should wrap up the set nicely.
Show us your chosen top 3 shots, taken by other members that have inspired you . Please take time to credit the members name against each photo. That should have you lot crawling the galleries for a bit

Re: Other Members shots that have inspired you in 2006
Narrowing this down to three is very, very difficult but I've done it based on the shots that have stayed in my mind and that I would one day love to be able to emulate.
This one from Cotter ![]() This one from Gary ![]() And this one from Steve

Damn hard to choose but I'll go for this one from Erick, just class.
![]() This one is from Markulous - just love it ![]() and this one from Shiretor - it just oozes the cat's natural character ![]() but really I could have added a few more. |

I know I'll forget some great shots but here are my three for now...
Red Arrows at Sunset by Rob Barron ![]() You've Been Framed by Nicklovik ![]() And my final one is this from Dave, I remember when this was posted months ago and was blown away by the processing (I'd love to know how it was done, Dave. Dave? )

This one by P-E great lead in and sky
![]() This by darkenergy777 ![]() This by Hacker...because of this shot I am now getting into Macro...thanks ![]() It was not easy picking 3 shots. I have picked these, as they have really inspired me in different ways: P-E - for reminding me how landscapes can be so rewarding Darkenergy777 - for reminding me to look at EVERYTHING as a photographic option Hacker - for starting me off into my Macro journey Cheers to all on this site for some great work Cotter Last edited by Sonsey; 30-12-2006 at 05:00. There are many that have inspired me on here and it was really difficult just to choose three.
erick; Love the conversion. ![]() Cotter; I shoot landscapes with a 16-35L and he pops this one with the nifty fifty quality ![]() Bassington; love the light etc. ![]() As I say there are plenty more that have inspired me on here this year and all the members get a |

Re: Other Members shots that have inspired you in 2006
This took ages to wittle down just 3 from so many quality shots in the gallery. But here are my final 3
yadlihp - This shot took my breath away the 1st time I saw it & still has lost none of its impact months on. The subtle tones add a spiritual feel the shot, that is refelcted in the aptly named title ![]() P-E - Ian has constantly produced high quality landscapes & now has transferred that skill to photographing the interior of grand buildings such as this :- ![]() Hacker - Having seen Colins shots from the 1st day he got his D70, through to his recent D200, I've not only been impressed by the increase in quality of his work, but also the way he chucks himslef in to new revenue opportunities from Equestrian, through Rock concerts, Portrait work & now having the guts to go full time . This shot has that unique feature of the water droplet, that makes it stand out from the crowd :-

Re: Other Members shots that have inspired you in 2006
It has been pointed out that I have not contributed to this thread. My excuse was that there are just so many great images on this site, it was just too difficult to select three. However, I have now made a real effort, so here they are:
First this excellent portrait by Cotter ![]() P-E’s got so many great images it’s difficult to choose one, but here goes ![]() And this one from Skipper ![]() There are so many more great photographs here that could have been in this post. Some are already in this thread. I salute you all.

Re: Other Members shots that have inspired you in 2006
I am entirely in accord with Graham: choosing three is extremely hard because the quality has been so consistently high. No matter what I choose I have to leave out some unbelievably good shots so PLEASE don't be offended if I didn't put yours in, I have just picked out three that stand out despite knowing I could pick three hundred just as easily.
Ok, here goes: By Dave: had to be a mono and this guy is one of the mono post-processors I know, gets such impact into the shots. This picture is superb but could have chosen any number of others. ![]() By Keith Tate: Again, a specialist who inspired me with his stunning ornithological set. I could have chosen several but this stands out as just about as good as this genre gets. Stunning! ![]() By FionaB: I haven't just chosen this picture, I have chosen this photographer. I have now known Fiona online for a while and have seen her photography develop. She always listens to advice, learns from others, tries new ideas and still finds time to constantly encourage other people in their own work. Definitely in my top three of the most inspiring ![]() ![]() Cheers, Rob
