LOL Dave!!!!
Like #2 but would have cropped to get rid of the dark patch at the bottom and also given it a bit of USM im photoshop to make it pop. Like #2 as well, but again it would benefit from a wee bit of USM. |

Re: Oulton Park Sat 20-09-08
Sorry Ric, lazy typing, USM is unsharpmask in photoshop (why unsharp mask when it makes shots sharper I don't know!), used fairly sparingly it sharpens everything up nicely and makes the shots just stand out that little bit more. I use it on all my cycling shots.

Re: Oulton Park Sat 20-09-08
Why are you using Aperture priority when its your shutter speed you need to be controlling for these type of shots ? Also not sure if the Mk2 is the same as the Mk1 but iso200 is the default i always start at iso200 i have used it below but it is better at 200 or above

Re: Oulton Park Sat 20-09-08
Unsharp masking is an image manipulation technique now familiar to many users of digital image processing software, but it seems to have been first used in Germany in the 1930s as a way of increasing the acutance, or apparent sharpness, of photographic images. The "unsharp" of the name derives from the fact that the technique uses a blurred, or "unsharp", positive to create a "mask" of the original image. The unsharped mask is then combined with the negative, creating the illusion that the resulting image is sharper than the original. From a signal-processing standpoint, an unsharp mask is generally a linear or nonlinear filter that amplifies high-frequency components.
