Ouse Bridge at Dusk

Oh no! Not another one in the River Ouse at Dusk series! 'Fraid so

I was amazed at the contrasts in the architecture in York. The usual thoughts of the Minster and the Shambles are balanced by some really awful efforts, one of which is the Ouse Bridge. I thought it best to photograph it when the lack of light would soften the blow of looking at it!

I was originally going to crop some of the river, but in the end I preferred the balance given by the reflections of the sky in the water.

I'm really liking this, Graham. Nicely comp'd - defo no need to crop! Think it might be a little lighter with a little dodging the lighter areas (but that's just me!) and emphasising the 'direction' of the clouds

BTW, what's wrong with the bridge - looks OK to me!

Hey, Charlotte - my 'to do' list was shorter that I thought.

Plant cloned and 1 degree rotation cw.

Is you boat still floating?

Re: Ouse Bridge at Dusk

Love it, Graham The lead-in lines are fab, the buildings just take you right round the pic, the pattern in the sky is fascinating, clarity of detail is exceptional (without looking false or overcooked) ... it's a little on the dull-dark side, but you were careful to tell us it was dusk, so I'll have to let that one go

Super shot, Graham, in fact I think it's my personal favourite of yours that I've seen so far

PS I like that there are no converging verticals (minor one on the LH edge, but I can live with that)
