The Owl
well ive been away from here a while but managed to dust down the camera yesterday on a day off work and head out a run!
decided to try out shooting birds. Ive never done any animal shots before but i noticed shots recently on this site of a german shepherd dog and really liked the results. anyways, here's one of the better shots of the day! ![]() any tips for 'the next time' are welcome! Steve |

Re: The Owl
yea dave them were the shots that really caught my eye. im intending to try out the same kind of idea on the owl but havent had a chance as yet. feel free to have a play!! at least the background is a starting point!
i dont like that frame either, would you agree it looks a bit feeble?! Steve |

Re: The Owl
cheers Simpbow!
also big thanks to dave! i did my own version of your conversion which im pretty pleased with. I did it slightly differently by using the gradient tool in PS. That border really suits it too! Thanks again! |

Re: The Owl
I dunno - making it into a floating head makes me ask why you've left space on the right? Natural background I could understand but I reckon the manipulation has crossed a bridge too far.
Just my 2 cents though, I'm sure others will like it. |
