Taken a couple of weeks ago on a walk up through Padley Gorge.

Very artistic Gary !! I can see from you exif 2.5 sec exposure .... I'm assuming you had to use a ND filter ?, or was the light on your side ?

Just used a polarising filter to cut out just enough light to get the exposure right.

Padley is a joy to walk around.......hopefully going again very soon.

I like this shot Gary, it’s a slight departure from your usual style but you have all the key elements and it’s a well executed shot. I think the 2.5 sec exposure is spot on for the correct amount of water blur and the sharpness of the surrounding scene is spot on.

I have done that many times, gone out full of inspiration and ideas only to have a very unproductive day and end up with nothing to show for my efforts.

Yes was my first day out with the Lee filter system........and got it mostly wrong

Ahh well if you were trying out new equipment then even if the results are not as you had hoped, the day has been a learning experiance and hasn't been wasted. Thats what I always think anyway

Maybe you could start a thread about the filters and your findings, If I can I'll help you out with what I know?

Yep need to work out how to get the best out of the filters........in particullarly the placement of a ND Grad when something like a tree building etc extends into the sky if you know what I mean.

I walked up from grindleford station end, about 5 minutes walk to the bridge and it was just beyond it,
Maybe we should meet up at some point soon as we both live in the same village, swop tips etc.

I walked down from Fox House and took most of my pictures towards the top end.
