Re: Padley Gorge
Very nice shot P-E ... lovely exposure and good composition but the lighting makes it a little flat looking ... imo ...

Re: Padley Gorge
Making of a great shot there P-E. Colours look good in foreground but lose something in background. Was the background in shadow & you used shadows/highlights to bring out detail ? Sometimes this method can flatten colours/contrast.

Re: Padley Gorge
On shots like this where there are extremes of exposure , you can rarely apply processing across whole image.
What I would suugest is to duplicate layer & then apply processing for the one of area of shot you are not ahppy with. Ignore what it does to rest of shot. When happy, then apply layer mask & bring back original shot for areas that didn't need changing. You can also play with opacity for top layer to weaken any effects. |

Re: Padley Gorge
I worked in Layers Dave.
Doesn't look to bad on this monitor but not so good on another one that I viewed it on. |

Re: Padley Gorge
Thanks for the comments
I still feel I want to play around with it........maybe brighten those rocks up a tad. Could be this monitor I am on at the moment but It just seems a little dark. |
