I'm absolutely loving the second one, colour saturation, compostion and great use of DOF. The first one I can't make up my mind. Not sure if its the fact that you seem to lose the stones a little because of the white background but again composition is good, maybe a little cropping as I feel there is just a tad too much blank space? The third one is a classic isn't it which again I feel could be cropped top and bottom to enhance it a little......
Right after all that you have every right to ignore my comments as I'm not a pro ok. You've done well and if these are your first shots then I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work... you have a good eye. |

Does anyone else think they just look really minty?

First one for me...like the second one too but the third one I find the shadows a little uncomfortable.

i'd have to go for the second one its like a scaled down version of those great shots of lakes with mountains in the background I love it. The first looks a little bland to me I'm afraid and the third I'd say needed to be croped to a pano format and the shadow lightened a tad as they take away from the imact of the dark stones on such a white background

#1 is very good, but #3 would be the best without the shadows!

Thanks everyone, I think I'll title that first one as Mints, lol
THX, big one is about 3 or 4 inch, and the small is about 1 inch. Its really suprising how many people like the shadows in three, and how many dont, kinda make the shot or breaks it, interesting. It's all a learning curve hey. Cheers |

Is the 3rd shot a homage to a print you can get at Ikea? it's almost identical.
