Re: Perth Sunrise
Lovely colours. You have a very graphical image with it's clean lines and was wondering how you achieved it?

Thanks Markulkous - this is done with HDR. Pat, I took this the morning of the swap meet.

Re: Perth Sunrise
Australopithecus, I've removed the picture and inserted a link to it instead as it's just outside our 200k size limit. Do you want to re-size it and post it back up?

Angela
When I saved the image in PS, it was 192 KB - now it's grown to 201 KB - I've edited it down and reposted. Frank Last edited by Australopithecus; 20-03-2007 at 11:36. |

Re: Perth Sunrise
Beautiful image, Frank
![]() Converted jpg's are always slightly different in size to what is indicated by your app, sometimes a few kb bigger + sometimes a few less! I always check the output size in Windows Explorer before I close the conversion window, in case it needs to be redone because of a few stray kb's

Re: Perth Sunrise

Re: Perth Sunrise
This is a really lovely shot Frank, I love the subtle HDR treatment and the colours, you've done a great job.
Just as a little pointer, when I save for the web in Photoshop I use the 'Optimise for File Size' option and choose 190kbs. That way it always sizes just below 190kbs and any difference which occurs will still be absorbed by the 10Kbs buffer I have built in. Hope that helps. Cheers, Rob |

Re: Perth Sunrise
Thanks Rob - the only problem with "save for web" is the fact that PS strips out the EXIF info. I frequently look at the EXIF info on web photos, so I like to leave it in for others to view. I also post on a couple of other sites - it's a pain having to resize the original at different resolutions, though I do agree that there's not much need to exceed 200KB on the web.
Cheers, Frank |

Re: Perth Sunrise
I think the Perth skyline is a great one, and especially here in this image you have of it. The weirdest bit about it is that most of those buildings are pretty much all on the same street, and the view is pretty much 2D.
Lovely clean image! |

Re: Perth Sunrise
A lovely image in all respects. I just don't like that thin strip of water at the bottom.
