Pitsford Reservoir
Well just before Xmas I got myself a second hand EF 17-40mm f4L USM for my present and thought I'd try it out, so on the 23rd, the sunset looked good so I went out to Pitsford in Northamptonshire to try it out, the sky looks amazing from the causeway, as you have the sunset one side and the moonrise on the other.
All comments and critique welcome, I don't normally shoot landscapes. If you look closely at the first one, you can see the heron that flew in over my head, that was amazing! That shot is a crop and not a stitched panorama. ![]() ![]()

Wonderful colours & smooth tones. You must be over the moon

Re: Pitsford Reservoir
Thanks for the comments. I'm very pleased with the lens. I got it from Youngs in Leicester, we were passing & I happened to see it in the window. No box or lens cap, but they gave me a 6 month warranty and it seems absolutely fine & a lot cheaper than new
Might get me out taking some landscapes now ![]() Dave, over the moon .... Grooan

Re: Pitsford Reservoir
Oh! Beautiful atmospheric shots - superb colour. Hard to pick a favourite, but it could be No.1 by a whisker.

Re: Pitsford Reservoir
Thanks for the comments, my favourite at the moment is the moonlight shot, but I need to go back again to get a spot lower down near the water to avoid the causeway being in shot, but there is a path near that could be promising.

Re: Pitsford Reservoir
viewing these on the iPod so not as big as they could be but from here they look pretty good! Love the pano, really nice range of tones and colours captured. Would like to see a development like the one you mentioned of the moonlight shot, cos I can see it could be fantastic!
