Poppies

The blooms appeared over night and I couldn't resist the temptation to photograph them from my bedroom window (open).

pretty good contrast and timely capture, arn't you glad there wasn't a little wind. I know about poppies and there very tender and short lived flowers....

Wasn't long before a breeze came followed by sun and then rain.

Can you put a name to this variety please. Just maybe, they are opium poppies. I didn't plant, them they just came. I love the flowers but hate the leaves and that's why I cropped the way I did.

Composition, colours and lighting are spot-on.

Lucky you saw the opportunity before the conditions deteriorated.

You must have a ground floor bedroom or the highest Poppies in the world!

Thank you. I have an upstairs bedroom and the highest poppies in the world. The problem is lack of light I am surrounded by very tall trees and all my plants have to reach up for the light.
