Re: Portrait

Ok...the first one scared me and the second one...had somewhat the same effect. You can tell I don't like spiders Good pictures.

I may take off some of the right side on the second picture. Let the spider stand out on his own so to speak.

Re: Portrait

Hi CPD23,

also new in macro....
#1 for me is to close-up....then the detail is not enough, better capture it the front view.
#2 usually they take the shoot more on the top than a perspective way.

Re: Portrait

Couple of good looking spiders!

1st has nice detail but the BG/surroundings a little distracting - and I like the RHS in 2nd as it gives environment/context as well as a defined side

Thanks guys.
My thoughts on the 1st one was to catch the wolf spiders face in his world and get a different perspective.

Markulous what is RHS?

Re: Portrait

I liked the leaves on the right--just didn't like the white in the upper right. Maybe take that out and let the spider and green stand out

Re: Portrait

the first pic is a little cluttered. legs + twigs. The second shot is much cleaner and nicely composed. The diagonal web slices up the frame nicely and the spider looks dramatic, cliffhanging to the leaf.
