Powerboats on the Mersey (56K)
Thanks to the size of the Mersey, the Honda Powerboats racing was very close to Albert Docks and I could get really nice close up shots with my 100-400. Apparently its the closest to land the boats have been. Yey for me :D I stood next to all the other photographers with their 1D's and 300mm primes and felt a little small with my 100-400 :)

Great shots Pete.
Its a pity about the colour of the Mersey, they would have looked o whole lot better with bluish water. 2nd out of the second post is my favorites. |

The Mersey isn't that bad Steve, it has been cleaned up quite a lot with all of the regs that are in place.
Salmon and octopus have returned, so it can't be that bad. I think the colour is down to the currents stirring up the mud and sand, a bit like the bristol channel. |

Great shots!! think the last one is the best, because its very sharp and you can see some blured parts showing the speed!

Nice shots pete, I like that first one best, great feeling of action.
Make sure you get these online somewhere, the crews and owners are crying out for prints. Reminds me of this thread http://www.thephotographyforums.com/...ead.php?t=2644 |
