PS Gardener

Took an old shot and reworked it. Then looked again and wondered about the hedge.

Did some gardening but left a few furrows a pointer in the direction of clone stamping advice would be welcome.

Re: PS Gardener

Hi Rodger,a nice atmospheric shot here,I feel like grabbing my duvet jacket. As to the cloning,I think the trick in this case would be to get right in close, 100% or so, and just clone the line of the branches. Also take a new 'sample' for each 'click' ,a sample that matches the surroundings. The pattern effect comes with using the same 'sample' in a 'click and hold' manner.I hope this is of some help[also hope it's right!!]

Thanks will try that. Have been able to remove dust from skies but always mess up anything more complicated. Suspect patience is part of the answer too.

Re: PS Gardener

Yeah. You did a good job, the only reason I can immediately see it is cos it all looks the same, each time you clone, use a different place to clone from, so that it doesn't look like a repeated pattern

Re: PS Gardener

Crop a good inch off the left hand side and the picture looks far better. The burnt out area then doesn't pull the eye over to the left and the natural V of the remaining branches/twigs in FG help frame the bottom of the shot and draw the eye forward.

Definitely the comments made about the repeat patterning in cloning are right, there is a short tutorial on cloning here on pixalo you might find useful

When the left side is removed, I really like this shot, the sky is gorgeous

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rodger, that crop does bring the photo together and stops the eye 'wandering' to the bright corner.Keep up the good work, and keep warm!!

Re: PS Gardener

Nice image. Now, if you want some real practice how about getting rid of the flare caused by the sun? It may seem tough but it isn't as difficult as you may think AND it will definitely aid your patience issue since that is what you will need most.

Cheers Les,
Have to work on that one. Presume dodging and burning involved in that. Suspect that will be next item on my learning list.
