Putting the new lens thru its paces
the last few days have been the first chance i have had to put the sigma 20 - 40mm thru its paces, from landscapes to church interiors to night time shots to portraits, i tried to cover as much as i could,........... here are the first few....... little to no CA which is a HUGE improvement over the kit lens i always had to use before........ and everything was hand held
forgot my tripod!opinions as always appreciated. must point out as always they have lost a bit of oompf in compression ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Putting the new lens thru its paces
These look nice Fi, good sharpness, and the interior shot with the seats is very 'clear'.
I didn't hear anything about any 'new lens' ![]() EDIT: How's about that for a speedy reply eh?

Re: Putting the new lens thru its paces
lolol very good Jack..............
i did ask opinions on it before i bought it but only got a handful of replies, after much soul searching i got the Sigma 20 - 40 ex dg df lens to replace my kit lens and be my new walkabout. |

Very nice. I especially like the shot of the castle.

Re: Putting the new lens thru its paces
Just thinking what 1 might look like with an atmospheric BW conversion?

Re: Putting the new lens thru its paces
Oh just one thing I forgot to mention, I am guessing you did something like burned in the top of #1? I really like the image, but you can tell because the whites have gone grey. IMO this doesn't make it better, it just shows that it is completely blown, something about which you could have done nothing about, but it looks worse grey
And I wouldn't mind an atmospheric mono either

Re: Putting the new lens thru its paces
hmmmmm which to be honest is very strange cos i havent burnt anything in at all! the only thing i can think od which caused it may have been the big black cloud outside.......... not sure why else its like that............. if u want to have a play to convert it feel free!
