Raptor ID

There was a constant feeling of being watched in France....
Turned out to be a high flying bird of prey which I cannot ID. I'd say either Buzzard or Eagle of some kind....any help from you twitchers?

I'm gonna link to these (if that's ok) as I can't be bothered to resize for an ID thread:

Picasa Web Albums - Jack - France 2007

Picasa Web Albums - Jack - France 2007

They are the 2 pics, any ideas? (You can zoom in by clicking Magn. glass Icon in the top right, and then wait a short while for it to "optimise")

Thanks

Jack M

I'm one of those who can't be bothered to follow links, I'd much rather just have the image(s) right there in the thread

Re: Raptor ID

I don't think kites have such long flight feathers I'd go with buzzard of some sort, looking at the short stocky tail

Re: Raptor ID

I think it was a lot bigger than that Fi, more like eagle or buzzard size, and it did, at times, appear to have very finger-like wings...(as in the first shot)
