Having been to RIATs this year I know how hard it is to get a decent shot like #2 ....so spot on fella !!!

Thanks for the positive comments. A lot of people are surprised that I manage to get such an angle for pictures like 2 and 5 but let me tell you the secret: come to Bournemouth in August any year!

We host the Red Arrows every year (at least once) and they perform over the sea with crossovers and things flying parallel to the beach and the actual crossings directly over the pier. Now, in Bournemouth, you have cliff tops running the full length of the beach and if you stand up on the top, a hundred metres to the left of the pier, you get to see the planes flying so low that they are virtually straight ahead of you instead of having to look up. That location and my 100-400mm IS lens means I can get in nice and close and still pull far enough back to get a variety of shots.

Great place for a holiday but even greater place for cracking views of the Red Arrows :o)
