Red and green with ring

Lousy shots with fast failing light as the rain came in this evening 200th /f2.8 at iso 800 and 1600!

The first time I have spotted a ring on any of my visitors.

I shall have to enquire who has been ringing young green finches locally

#1 a bit noisy in BG but #2 looks good! Weren't you using a tripod, as 1/200 sounds handheld?

Re: Red and green with ring

The sigma 70-200 f2.8 lens is mounted on the tripod and the camera on the back!

The light was really poor but I find that 1/200th is really needed to compensate for movement of small birds.

Re: Red and green with ring

Ahh, OK, thanks! Must admit that I go for slower shutter over higher ISO and hope that they don't move. As they tend to jerk rather than move steadily I get a couple of hits with the expected expense of quite a few misses - but those hits benefit from being less noisy!
