Red Squirrels

Hi All
I never tire of taking photos of these squirrels, but I wish to improve my technique. I would welcome any comments .They are usually taken from within a hide the squirrels coming onto an outside ledge. This often gives me a problem with overexposed backgrounds .

Re: Red Squirrels

Well they're certainly close up! I can tell the second one is a crop, but the first one doesn't look so obvious! Good shots

Re: Red Squirrels

Wow! These are excellent Such sharp detail + great colour. The BG looks just fine to me. Only thing that spoils the 2nd one for me is the catchlight, I find it distracting 'cos it has an odd purple tinge to it. Otherwise, they are super duper shots, very well done!

Top shots, really sharp and love the close cropped image. Can't see much room for improvement personally.

Re: Red Squirrels

Thank you sincerely for your encouraging remarks. The catchlight ( which I have looked at in full mag.) appears to be the sky... and the darker almost right angled edges are a relection of the ledge of the window in the hide.I have a couple of more shots which I am now confident enough to post on the site.

Fantastic Brian.
Wonderful to see those as opposed to the Grey tree rats.
