There are two kinds of photos for me: ones that I see and think "I could do better than that..." and the ones that I see and think "Damn - I wish I'd taken that..."
Marianne's fall squarely in the latter category for the most part .So here's your final warning - start taking bad photos so I can feel better about myself...or else!

Marianne's just joined she'll be running out of good stuff soon and posting the same dross as the rest of us.
![]() That is a lovely shot. I can't make my mind up if it's a staight shot or you've given the background the sepia treatment, but I saw it straight away as a B&W with a bright red umbrella ala Speilberg's girl in a red dress in his B&W scenes in 'Shindlers List' Give it a try Marianne - pretty please.

Superb shot Marianne
It works really well and the tone you used blends nicely with the selective colouring. Sometimes the surrounding monochrome can clash harshly with the selected colour areas but this is just perfect for me. I think the team here should consider a red card system...3 cracking shots within a week and your'e out! |

I like it too
![]() For those of us with colour challenged vision - Am I seeing a hint of red in the monochrome (not umbrella )or is it one of my imaginary colours

there is colour in the whole scene Robert, all I did was to duplicate the layer, put the brown/sepia on the top layer then I reduced the opacity on the top layer to just let enough colour come through. The unbrella was VERY red to start with, I am trying to find the original to show you......
