Remembrance

Went out for a wander today but seem to have left my inspiration at home! Anyway, ended up at the local Garrison church, got this shot (best of a bad bunch )then came home and played with my new B&W tutorial CD (cheers DJW ).
This was the end result - comments (good and bad) welcomed:

I like the selective colouring, works well here. Well done!

Definately, I'm getting a bit passe about selective colouring. I used to absolutely love it at one point, but I think it's sometimes done on the wrong shots.

This one however, I think works well. A shot made for it IMO

Regards

Really excellent shot 'mini'. Well composed and appropriate use of selective colouring IMO.
Well done

Thanks for all your positive comments - I honestly expected people to say 'I'd move this, do that, don't like it' etc.

I really like this shot, well done!

My only criticism is that it looks like you used some blurring on it to highlight the monument and the wreath... but one part of the front chain is blurred as well, while the rest of it is in focus...

Other than that, yes, it gets the thumbs up from me (but sorry for the criticism)

As it's definitely a share rather than a critique you would only expect minor commentary I think Minimeeze - and it appears you have had just a little.

This works well and has been well executed both at taking time and post during processing. Great result, tastefully presented !

Only comment from me - a lower view point would have cleared the chain from the wreath ... but that is a relatively small point.

I like it personally, as I've said, but if you want my opinion, I'd personally have tried a portrait shot to see what it looked like. Just out of curiosity
